La narrativa dominante sobre IA y empleo es de reemplazo: qué tareas desaparecen, qué puestos se automatizan. Es una lectura incompleta. Cada capa de gobernanza que la IA exige — trazabilidad, supervisión, auditoría, certificación — genera roles que no existían hace tres años y que hoy no tienen todavía una carrera formal detrás.The dominant narrative about AI and employment is one of replacement: which tasks disappear, which positions are automated. It is an incomplete reading. Every layer of governance that AI requires — traceability, oversight, audit, certification — generates roles that did not exist three years ago and still have no formal degree program behind them.

Ninguna tecnología previa generó esta necesidad con esta urgencia. Un software de cálculo no necesitaba alguien que audite su razonamiento — el razonamiento era determinístico y verificable por diseño. Un sistema de IA generativa produce outputs plausibles que pueden ser incorrectos sin que el error sea obvio. No prior technology generated this need with this urgency. Calculation software did not need someone to audit its reasoning — the reasoning was deterministic and verifiable by design. A generative AI system produces plausible outputs that can be wrong without the error being obvious. That specific characteristic — plausibility without guarantee — is what creates the demand for new roles: someone must occupy the space between “the system said so” and “this is correct.”

Auditor algorítmico. No es un rol técnico de ingeniería — es un rol de criterio profesional aplicado a sistemas. Evalúa si un proceso de IA cumple con trazabilidad, supervisión y documentación, con la misma lógica que un auditor financiero evalúa controles internos. Ya existe demanda concreta: los marcos de SIGEN, AI Act y similares exigen esta función y todavía no hay oferta de formación consolidada.
Algorithmic auditor. Not a technical engineering role — a role of professional judgment applied to systems. Evaluates whether an AI process meets traceability, oversight, and documentation requirements, with the same logic that a financial auditor evaluates internal controls. Concrete demand already exists: SIGEN, AI Act, and similar frameworks require this function and there is still no consolidated training offering.

Rol de coordinación entre compliance, tecnología y operación — responsable de que la adopción de IA en una organización tenga política, no solo herramienta. Diseñador de ventanas de control. Perfil híbrido entre proceso y tecnología: define qué debe registrarse, cómo y con qué nivel de detalle, para que una decisión algorítmica sea reconstruible después. No es un desarrollador — es alguien que entiende tanto el proceso de negocio como los requisitos regulatorios.
Control window designer. Hybrid profile between process and technology: defines what must be recorded, how, and with what level of detail, so that an algorithmic decision is reconstructible afterward. Not a developer — someone who understands both the business process and regulatory requirements.
Certificador independiente de madurez algorítmica. El equivalente al auditor externo en materia financiera, pero para gobernanza de IA — evalúa y certifica, sin conflicto de interés, el nivel de madurez de una organización frente a marcos como MDMA.

Ninguno de estos oficios exige ser ingeniero de IA. Todos exigen la combinación que menos se enseña en las carreras tradicionales: criterio normativo + comprensión técnica suficiente + capacidad de traducir entre ambos mundos. Es, en los hechos, el mismo perfil que describe la transición de ejecutor a supervisor — aplicado como categoría de empleo formal en vez de como evolución de un rol existente.
None of these roles requires being an AI engineer. All require the combination least taught in traditional degrees: normative judgment + sufficient technical understanding + capacity to translate between both worlds. It is, in practice, the same profile that describes the transition from executor to supervisor — applied as a formal employment category rather than as the evolution of an existing role.

The correct question is not what jobs AI destroys. It is what roles AI governance requires — and those, unlike the ones that disappear, are still being defined. Whoever defines them first leads them afterward.
